The kinds of RV's are Class A, B, and C.
Everyone else is giving you model or mfg. names.

RE: Towing Double

The OP is going to tow from UT to WY. Don't see what that has to do with California laws!

RE: Towing Double

Hi,
At least you are starting with a dually truck, and all you really need now is a current commercial truck license, current medical certificate, and brakes on all of the trailers.
It also is a requirement to have a current log in the vehicle. It shows when your last sleep time was, when you need to stop your driving shift, and so on.
Fred.
Nonsense. If you are commercial driving maybe, but certainly not for an RV.
Double tow allowed up to 65ft overall in Utah and Wyoming is 85ft.
There are some folks on here who will tell you that you need a commercial pilot's licence to ride a bicycle, just because they don't think you should ride a bike.

RE: Colorado

LaVeta pass is very easy - you should be just fine. Good road and good width. I towed up there last year double (with the boat behind the 5er) and was in cruise all the way up. Now, Wolf Creek Pass to the west is a different matter. Great road but needs a lot of attention! Did that OK too - now I don't worry about any of them. Just watch your speed going down and you will be just fine.

RE: JT's installed today

One other bit of advice...when setting your trailer, lower the rear jacks first and snug them to the ground, bring the trailer "almost" to level. Then raise the front of the fiver all the way to level. This will "load" the rear jacks...they don't do anygood unless they have pressure on them. Afterwards, tighten all the T handles on the JT's. This will help to make the unit as solid as possible.
Yup that's what JT say in their 'blurb'.
They also say to nudge the front jacks a tad afterwards
to snug up the connectors. Didn't do that my 1st time out
and it took us 10 minutes to work out that the squeak was
from the front JT connection to the frame. A quick 'bump'
on the jacks and it was rock solid.

RE: JT's installed today

As a JT user here is a tip... Use as few blocks as possible under the scissor stabilizers. I was on a site this last weekend that sloped a lot. We arrived in the dark and used about 10" of wood blocks under them and noticed it still wobbled a bit at the back. Next morning I removed about 6" of wood, lowered the stabilizers and retightened the JT's. Solid as a rock. Better to have the stabilizers way extended rather than lots of blocks - makes a bigger triangle and thus more stability. We learn by experience! :)

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

For those who are going to nominate Old Fella and myself you will need this information.
Richard - this is a great idea and one which will help Fella's story become an inspiration to many more folks. Though you might like to see what I said....
Richard has become a celebrity across the nation and in particular with RV'ers, when a couple of years ago he rescued a stray, who became known as 'Old Fella', from a campground where he had been abandoned years before. Richard and Fella became part of a huge internet family across the nation, there having been several 'rallys' where followers of Fella's progress back to health were celebrated and folks could meet him. The wonderful thing about this story is that it not only prompted many many folks across the USA to adopt rescue pets from shelters, but it also put Richard on the path to working with to establish the Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue - a non-kill shelter which is now going strong. Sadly, Old Fella died from cancer this week and the outpouring of grief in the Old Fella thread on RV.NET had been awesome. Richard (and his wife Sue) are true heroes, and Fella is now an angel in heaven but still giving inspiration to animal lovers everywhere. I cannot think of a better recipient for the reward. Truly a hero.

RE: What is an amateur golfer's favorite club.....???

I actually have a foot wedge in my golf bag - a small club end with elastic so I can put it around my shoe. I was given it as a goofy present years ago, and it still causes laughs when playing golf with someone new!
